Hi, I'm Annika!
Currently I study Games Engineering (B.Sc.) in Würzburg, a computer science course that focuses on computer science, human-computer-interaction and - of course - game development. In our 2-term long student projects, I learned about game engines, development for VR and a variety of game development aspects, like 3D asset creation.
I enjoyed teaching other students in my latest position as a scientific student assistant that tutors the GameLab I course. As a part of this job, I got to select and prepare talks about relevant topics when starting out with developing a video game. Examples are how to hold pitches, figure out a USP and a cohesive game loop and how to create stunning trailers.
With a great love for indie games and the indie development scene, I often participate in local or global game jams. Through that I have learned to rapidly prototype gameplay ideas and generate game content, as well as efficient time management. In my position as a member of the student initiative of my study course, I also get the opportunity to organize events like LAN parties or game jams.
